After a search, it jumps to the search result pane and highlights the first result.
Is there any possibility to get an optional option to disable this step?
Option to disable, that the first searchresult is highlighted?

How are you searching in Everything?
Normally "Everything" has search as you type enabled, the focus will stay in the search edit until you press ENTER.
Do you want to prevent ENTER from focusing the result list?
Are you using the search history drop down and expect the focus to stay in the search edit after pressing the ENTER key?

Just a guesss, but this sounds to me as an instance of the XY problem where you are asking for a solution to something that is not your actual problem.thomaz wrote:After a search, it jumps to the search result pane and highlights the first result.

If that is the case: what is the real issue?
Re: Option to disable, that the first searchresult is highlighted?
i use the "enter" method.
"search as you type" is disabled.
atm i'm using a workaround with remapped keys.
"Fokus search edit" is mapped to "enter".
an option from preventing "enter" to jump to the search result list would be nice.

Some other workarounds that might help you:an option from preventing "enter" to jump to the search result list would be nice.
- Alt-D brings you back to the search bar
- Alt-Home brings you back to the search bar and clears t's contents
- After setting Result list focus = Repeat with search (Menu:Tools > Options > Results), a cursor up brings you back to the search bar
HTH ..
Re: Option to disable, that the first searchresult is highlighted?
I have added the ini option search_edit_enter_focus_results for the next release of "Everything".
Setting this to 0, will change pressing the ENTER key in the search edit from focusing the result list to selecting all the text in the search edit.
I have also added the ini option search_history_enter_focus_results, which will also change the behavior of pressing the ENTER from the search history drop down list. This one will be set to 0 by default for Everything 1.5.
Would an option for double ENTER to focus the results be useful?
