Hotkey to toggle Menubar please!
Hello, just another very happy user of the new everything alpha (1.5).
I really like the minimal approach to UI and the new excellent abity to hide the menubar.
Can we just get a hotkey to toggle menubar visibility? please? thank you :]

Support++ (I have the menu hidden too)
You can attach a keyboard shortcut to most menu-entries (Menu:Tools > Options > Keyboard), but toggling the menu isn't one of them.
Would be nice if that got added.
Workaround for now:
- Right-click the title bar and select View > Menu (bet you knew this already)
- Press 'ALT + SPACE' , V, 'ENTER' (assuming English menu items; V = View)

Hey that is great news! Cant wait to get home and to try this! Thanks so much for being so quick to implement this!
Re: Hotkey to toggle Menubar please!
I'm pondering hiding the menu bar myself as an experiment, but. When Firefox eliminated the menu bar, they made it so pressing the Alt key would auto-show it and activate the menu accelerators. I have a couple other programs that behave this way too. Right now, hiding the menu bar in Everything disables menu accelerators, and doesn't auto-show the menu bar. I do need the menu accelerators to work when pressing Alt+V or Alt+S for instance.
Any chance we could add this behavior? Either as a hidden option and/or the default behavior?
(It's possible the OP wouldn't need a hotkey to toggle the menubar if this were the behavior.)

Re: Hotkey to toggle Menubar please!
I would like that too (even suggested exactly the same thing long time ago).
Firefox (and Notepad++ e.a.) have a dual mode:
- Pressing 'ALT +F' opens the previously hidden menu and focuses the 'File' entry (English localization) and expands it.
- Pressing 'ALT' focuses the first menu entry. Pressing for example a 'T' focuses the Tools menu and expands it.
Either one would work (for me)
Another option would be to focus the menu bar after un-hiding it, but that goes against the original hide/unhide meaning imo.
Luckily all menu entries are still accessible through hotkeys, like CTRL+P to access the options.

Re: Hotkey to toggle Menubar please!
mIRC is another one that lets you hide the menu bar. And auto-showing + accelerators when pressing Alt is the only behavior it supports.
Re: Hotkey to toggle Menubar please!
I have put on my TODO list: ALT = show menu.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Everything 1.5.0.1310a improves the menu bar.
The menu bar will now be shown when the ALT key is pressed.

Very nice!!
Even the hotkey I configured for View => Menu (v1310: Menu Bar; better!) was removed automatically.
Big improvement (for me). Thanks!
