Run Count - Update even if file name changes

Post by HungerFreeze »

Currently, I use the run count to sort my search results. So, for the documents and folders that I use often, I'll set the Run Count to 100 so it will always be at the top of the research results.

However, whenever I decide to do some file reorganization and rename files, the run count doesn't follow the file name change.

I imagine that it would be really difficult to figure out a way to do this so this suggestion isn't that important. It would be a nice convenience. :D

void wrote: This is how the run count initially worked, unfortunately, how files are upgraded on Windows will end up overwriting your run count, for example:
A new file is downloaded, say newfile.exe and is to replace file.exe:
file.exe currently has a run count of 96.
newfile.exe will have a run count of 0.
When newfile.exe is renamed to file.exe (overwriting the existing file.exe) the run count for file.exe would reset to 0.

I'll consider an option to add the run count when renaming.

Maybe, further interest may convince the developer to upgrade the program?

On the other hand, I can imagine this problem being a major headache because Everything would have to interface with Windows File Explorer continuously. Not an easy task.
