Hi.
So I connected a shared drive on two computers and tried to get everything to index it.
But when I click network under indexes > folders > add
If I click network to discover the shared drive, it does nothing. Sometimes it'll spin a bit but nothing happens. Sometimes that expand > chevron to the left of the network folder will disappear, sometimes not.
I've tried various combinations of running as admin vs not. This is weird cause the other computer works lol.

- Click the General tab on the left.
- Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
- Uncheck Run as administrator.
- Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
- Click OK.
- Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
- Restart Everything.
- Right click your Everything.exe or a shortcut to Everything
- Click Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Uncheck Run this program as an administrator.
- Click OK.

Re: Shared drive not being able to work
OOOPS.
I never knew you could just type in the address!!! I thought I tried just typing it in but ended up assuming you couldn't.
Thanks.

Re: Shared drive not being able to work
This needs to be part of the standard documentation -that a path can be explicitly typed in, when the "add folder / Network" dialog doesn't show the shared drive. I spent a lot of time before I found this post.
I rely on Everything Everyday and recommend it to others.
