Thumbnails not generating for specific file type

This is likely more of a windows issue, BUT in the past I have resolved this issue, and I have forgotten the method of doing so.

I have .trec extension files, and neither windows nor everything is generating the preview thumbnails for these. HOWEVER, in the past, I have had Everything show me the thumbnails, and I dont know what I did. But I know it was simple

I have tried all the ways the internet has suggested, such as regedit. Nothing has worked.

What keys are shown in the Register Editor under:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.trec\ShellEx

Please disable icons only:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Advanced tab on the left.
• To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
  icon
• Select: icons_only
• Set the value to: false
• Click OK.

This is the registry key/state I was told to create and save it into.
Doing this, and what you suggested for ICONS only (false) still didnt do the trick.

That is not a valid thumbnail handler.

Please try setting the (Default) value data to:

{9DBD2C50-62AD-11D0-B806-00C04FD706EC}
