Hi,
We book jobs on transport and save the manifest (summary of jobs booked on that day). Plan is book mark the folder where these will be saved....
...but then want to search for individual ref/customer name within folder and each indiv pdf.
So will save them down on a daily basis, but may want to search historically via ref number highlighted in yellow etc.
Many Thanks
Search within a pdf eg for name or ref
Re: Search within a pdf eg for name or ref
Use version 1.5 of Everything
and let it index the content of your PDFs.

Everything 1.5.0.1383a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.4

Re: Search within a pdf eg for name or ref
Please try the following search:
content: = match file content.
*.pdf 01.07. content:14055
content: = match file content.
Re: Search within a pdf eg for name or ref
content doesn't need to be indexed.
It will just be a little slower.
Combine with as many other filters as possible..
The following search should be fast:

Re: Search within a pdf eg for name or ref
Hi,
Great thanks for this guys
Is there a way to have it highlight the matching search result in preview pane? eg 14055 highlight yellow in preview
If I did want to index anyway, can you just index a certain folder?
Say if I created a new folder in documnets called "manifests" ;just index/re-index that folder...would that make it any quicker or not required.
Many thanks for your time.

Not yet, sorry. Is there a way to have it highlight the matching search result in preview pane? eg 14055 highlight yellow in preview
A feature to do this is on my TODO list.
Yes, under Tools -> Options -> Content, set Include only folders to: C:\Users\your-user-name\DocumentsIf I did want to index anyway, can you just index a certain folder?
Re: Search within a pdf eg for name or ref
Thank you. Yeah would be really handy if that became a feature.
I've seen a recommendation on this forum for Docfetcher. Played around today and it works well for searches within a document.
But other than that knowhere near as good as everything (I know built for diff purposes).
Many Thanks
