content is stored in memory

Post by jasonwhite86 »

In Everything v1.5, there is a feature for content indexing, but there is a line that I don't understand "content is stored in memory", what does that mean? And how does that affect computer performance? I have about 1 TB of PDFs & .docs

It should really be "text content" in stored in memory.

Everything will store all the text from the indexed content in memory for fast searching.
(not content data such as images etc)

Content indexing in Everything is designed for indexing less than 1GB of text.

You might find the memory usage for content indexing in Everything is too high.
It will depend on your PDFs and if they are mostly images with a little bit of text or a lot of text.
