After installing Everything on my new computer when I close Everything a file named Everything is placed on my desktop. This did not occur on my old computer. How can I opt out of that? Here is an example of the first few lines of the file so you know what it is I'm referring to.

Sounds like you have the portable version on the Desktop.
Please try the following:
Backup your Everything.ini on the desktop
Delete Everything.exe on the desktop.
Delete Everything.ini on the desktop.
Download the Everything installer (x64).
Please make sure Everything is installed to C:\Program Files\Everything
