How to detect if a file has been deleted?

Post by miogpsrocks »

Can this software detect if a file has been deleted?

If so, how would I see this information?

An option to do this will be available in Everything 1.5 with the Index Journal:
  • In Everything 1.5, from the Index menu, click Index Journal.
  • Change Action to: File Delete
  • Search or browse your deleted files.

Well Thank you for implimenting this new feature. This is something I desperately need.

I have multiple hard drives in my PC, external drives via USB, and tons of network attached storage(NAS) and this software helps me get instant access to my file and this new feature might help solve the mystery on why some of my files keep disappearing.

(Nirsoft's) FolderChangesView may also be of interest.
FolderChangesView is a simple tool that monitors the folder or disk drive that you choose and lists every filename that is being modified, created, or deleted while the folder is being monitored.
You can use FolderChangesView with any local disk drive or with a remote network share, as long as you have read permission to the selected folder.
(Read the version history, including the 2.31 history.)

The problem with the link to "In Development" is that it does NOT always link to the latest 1.5 Alpha version:
Everything 1.5.0.1367a is still shown here.

Download links to the latest Alpha versions can be found here:
- Everything-1.5.0.1376a - Status: 22 May 2024 ... and
- in the last post to the above link with a description of the changes

Heh, you are right!

(I did even check the link before posting and saw "1376" instead of "1367". Time for glasses/braincells ... )
