Hi.
I was wondering if "everything" could help me out with a issue i have.
I have server with multiple project folders:
Project_A
Project_B
Project_C
ect...
This server died and alot of the files did not get backed up.
However, i do have autosave in the software i work in, who saves localy.
This local autosave folder is a mess ofcourse, as the file names dont contain the Project name in it. Usualy just shot1_xxxx, shot2_xxxx, characte_A_xxx, character_B_xxx, and so forth.
So here is the gig - Everything has scanned the server before it died, and it knows where eveything belongs.
So if i go innside the autosave folder, take one of the file names and search it will tell me where on the dead server it belongs and what project, by looking at the path.
I do however have 2500 files in the autosave folder. So i am wondering if i can tell eveything to scan my autosave folder, and some how cross refrence with the deadserver, so i can sort the autosave files by path. And then quickly select all the files related to one project and be able to salvage some.
Cheers!
Match rogue files to previous known paths.

What version of Everything?
With 1.5alpha I'm thinking you might be able to get something out of it?
(And that's with not particularly following, nor thinking too much.)
But if you copied your autosave names to an (Everything) filelist,
that would find the corresponding files in your saved Everything .db
& (thinking ?) from there... oh, who knows, maybe Advanced Copy...
if you could use "parameters" in there... so Copy from...
(eh, now getting beyond me)
or other ways to parse & or export the data, such that you can parse it further,
like through a batch file... ?

Like the way you think. And how you write as your thought prosess progress
I am not on 1.5a but shouldnt be a issue to try that if it contains new features.
Filelist is new for me. Thats a way to search multiple things at the same time? Sounds like a start.
Thanks for the reply.
