Is there out of box SSL encryption with Everything possible or planned soon?
Or at least very good step by step instructions?
I love this utility but sheer lack of any normal security is more than just a miss. This great utility posses significant risk for those that do not understand that HTTP traffic is dangerous and hackers and malware will love to see not encrypted web traffic. Not certain what I am talking about? Then do not switch on the web service and open ports to give others access.
SSL support is really needed

There is also the idea to create a CGI "plug-in" (*) for this, so you can embed it in your existing webserver.
For now, as @therube already suggested, a reverse proxy would be the better solution.
(*) Or more likely: a FastCGI one.
