Multiple Instances
By default there is only one instance of Everything.
When you run Everything.exe it will check for an existing instance. If an existing instance is found the command line options are sent and processed by the existing instance. If no existing instance is found a new one is created.
To run multiple instances of Everything use Named instances.

Yes, that is quite confusing.
It would be better (in my opinion) to chhange "new instance" to "new search window".
"Named instance" is something most people don't need. It will start a separate Everything process with a ,you guessed it .. , name to distinguish it from the normal Everything process that runs nameless.
Both instances have their own settings (/INI file) and database. "New search windows" use the same settings and database.
