File to exclude files or folders

Post by st501351 »

Can we have a textfile with the excludes? I try to keep everything I need for a new computer handy for the 3 times a year I have to rebuild windows and it would be easier if I had an exclude file I could drop into everything.

I looked for a hack to do this already, sorry if i missed it.

Excludes are stored in your Everything.ini in %APPDATA%\Everything.

You can backup/restore this file when Everything is not running.

-or-

While Everything is running, to save your settings:
  • In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
    /config_save
  • Choose a filename and click Save.
To load your settings:
  • In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
    /config_load
  • Select your Everything.ini backup and click Open.
  • type in the following search and press ENTER:
    /restart
I will consider an option to import/export excludes.

Thank you for your suggestion.

No its not so convenient.
If you save the ini file and restore it later you have lost all other changes you made since then to Everything.
So an export function for the exclusions would be much better.
Or even better the use of a config file which only contains exclusions.
